Launched Coaster Roumered for 2011 - 2012

There is a current roumer circulating round mainly on screamscape is that the park are keeping a close eye on Blue Fire at Europa Park. It is said that Drayton Manor park are also looking into a MACK launched coaster and the ride is suposedly to be placed on the site of Shockwave. If this is the case then Shockwave will be leaving.

Non of this is yet confirmed though, just a roumer.

Why get rid of shockwave? The only stand - up coaster in the U.K (not sure about Europe too) it's the only resons i go to drayton, Shockwave! If they do get rid of it then you will never see me and other thrill junkies at drayton again. G - Force is a waist of time! Get some more coasters, more thrill rides and get rid of exacaliber, waste of money and it never get's any queues anyway!

The park have to be carefull of what they add becuase of the height and green belt restriction Also you mentioned getting rid of excalibur I think there might be a problem there as dosent this ride connect to the lake that Storm Force 10 Is On?

Im sure there is other room in the park to build another coaster instead of removing Shockwave I mean there is the alternative of removing the Buffalo Coaster and plonking another coaster there.

We'll just have to wait and see I spose..

To be honest I think the next largish thing will be 2012 rather than 2011 at Drayton. The Olympics will mean that the UK is centre spotlight, so all wise businesses will be trying to 'shout' their names and drag the visitors to them.

I'm pretty convinced that Thorpe will be getting something huge. I feel Alton wont need to get anything big, its already globally known. So if DM can afford it it would be wise for them to get something more UNIQUE than a clone of blue fire. I think to pull the crowds it has to be a worlds first of some sort, which might be hard for a little park.

That is very true Strechy.. Maby they could consider adding a worlds first flat ride? Im sure somewhere out there that theres still gotta be a worlds first flat ride. But then again a flat ride might not pull in the visitors they need as a coaster would..

i think a launch coaster would be great for drayton!
